Memorial Fall Fest Chili Cook-Off!

Chili team ready to serve at 11:30, tasting opens, Judges get samples at 12:30. Tasting ends at 1:30. Announce Winners at 2:30.
THE RULES
-
Due to space limitations, chili must be cooked prior to start of Fall Fest and brought to event ready to serve and eat.

It should be cooked from the raw basic ingredients such as raw meat and individual spices (no premixed spice packets to just add meat).

There can be only one chili submission per chili team.

The team must sign up online at: SIGNUP GENIUS LINK

Each chili team needs to provide 2 gallons of chili – 10 oz saved for judging and the remainder to be given in tasting cups to attendees.

The sample submitted for judging will be chosen from the same samples provided to attendees. 5 Judge samples (2 oz. portions) needs to be provided from each chili team.

Chili will be submitted at the place and time designated by the judges - no late submissions will be allowed.

There will be 2 honors awarded:

Crowd Winner”People’s Choice Award – the team that gets the most votes from attendee tasting.

Winner will receive recognition on social media, PTO website for a year, publication in school newsletter, and a custom apron.

1st Place – the team awarded best chili by the 5 judges based on the following criteria:
-
Chili will be judged on a 50 point scale, with 5 categories, each category being worth 10 points each.

Color
-
Aroma
-
Consistency
-
Taste
-
Intensity of flavor
-
-
Judging will be anonymous to prevent any bias.

Winner will receive recognition on social media, PTO website for a year, publication in school newsletter, a custom apron, and their team name added to the new Memorial Chili Cook-Off Trophy! ​
