How to Become a Volunteer

Want to help in your child's class, or get involved running school events with PTO?

To volunteer around students, Houston Independent School District requires you to register with their volunteers in public schools (VIPS) system.

Step 1: Get Registered

It's a quick and easy process. You can do it online:

Begin HISD VIPS Registration

Follow the prompts to complete the VIPS registration and Raptor background check. You'll receive an email when registration is approved.

Step 2: Forward Your Volunteer Confirmation to PTO

Forward your VIPS confirmation email to:
volunteers@memorialpto.com volunteers2@memorialpto.com

Yes, two email addresses. This ensures all our volunteer coordinators have you on their radar.

Step 3: Get Added to the Volunteer WhatsApp Group
