Car-Rider Drop-off and Pick Up Guidelines
In order to keep children safe, and keep drop-off and pick-up as efficient as possible, these are the suggested guidelines. We ask that all caregivers review and follow the protocols in order to contribute to our safe school culture and demonstrate consideration and respect for all. At the end of the day, the children are watching. Please remember you are modeling for them the necessity of following school rules and showing respect for all.
The staff parking lot is for staff only. Please refrain from parking in the staff lot during morning drop-off.
Drop off and pick-up should occur only in the car-rider line as indicated in the image below. Dropping off in the staff parking lot or on the street in middle of traffic is strictly prohibited as it is a major safety concern.

Memorial is surrounded by incredibly supportive and generous neighbors. To be as courteous and respectful as possible, please drive slowly throughout the neighborhood, don't block driveways while parking, and follow the indicated path for traffic flow for drop-offs and pick-ups. Entering in from other streets causes additional congestion and delays neighbors in the morning work commute. Those who live near the school know the path we should line up in and will avoid the area during the school year.
Drivers should remain in their vehicles while parked in the car-rider line during prime pick-up and drop-off times. The car-rider line is to be used for drop-off and pick-up from:

7:00-7:30 am

2:30-3:00 pm
The staff will help children in and out of their cars during these times.
While in the car-rider line, please pull all the way to the front until traffic is stopped. A staff member will escort your child to/from your car. Children should have their things gathered and be ready to unload as soon as the car is against the curb.

Please have student backpacks, lunches, and students ready before entering the Pick Up and Drop Off Zone.
Park next to the curb and come to a complete stop. BUT DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE
Students should exit and enter on the passenger side of the car only (curbside).
DO NOT LINGER AND WATCH YOUR CHILD WALK IN. If you want to monitor your children all the way to class, park on nearby roads and walk-in please.
Be polite to other drivers and try to leave room for easy maneuvering at the curb.
The drive through is a right turn only exit. Ms. Sal, our amazing Crossing Guard will be there to direct traffic.

This year, we're asking 3rd-5th grade students and their younger siblings in the same car to enter campus at the gate on Byway and E. Cowan. When dropping off students here via car, please continue on Byway and take a left on Crestwood Drive to exit the neighborhood. This is for students who can be dropped off without assistance needed to unbuckle seatbelts and open/close car doors. We hope in splitting up the drop-off entries, we will help speed up the process for all.
Thank you for helping to keep all of our children safe, and to alleviate traffic as much as possible!
