Join us for Community Garden Day this Thursday, August 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just want to lend a hand, we welcome all Memorial families, neighbors, and friends to help prepare our campus for the new school year.

Who Can Attend?

This event is open to community members of all ages. Come solo or bring the whole family. No gardening experience is necessary.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to the WhatsApp announcement or text Shirley at 832-466-5748. This helps us plan tools and supplies.

What to Expect

This is a hands-on volunteer morning focused on garden and campus upkeep projects.

We'll be:

• Preparing garden beds for fall planting

• Pulling weeds and trimming grass

• Touching up the school building exterior

• Pruning trees and branches

• Installing turf in the courtyard

• Setting up shade sails for the outdoor classroom

Any amount of time you can give is appreciated.

What to Bring:

• A water bottle

• Sunscreen

• Mosquito repellent

• Personal tools if desired (labeled with your name)

• Your community service form if applicable (we can sign off on hours for students)

Restrooms inside the school will be available.

Memorial Elementary is fortunate to have a beautiful, nature-rich campus in the heart of the city. This event helps keep it thriving and safe for students and teachers, and give us all a chance to connect as a community while doing it.
